In a bid to encash the growing popularity for scooters in India, Yamaha had launched the Fascino lifestyle scooter in the country in 2016. Now, the Japanese automaker has introduced the 2017 Yamaha Fascino in the Indian market. Based on the “Rich & Classy Modern Retro” design, the new model gets BSIV compliant engine as standard and gets new vibrant colors with added features including AHO (Auto Headlamp-On).
Yamaha claims that the new Fascino targets young Indians that, today, represent over 50 per cent population of the country. Its retro-modern styling has made it one of the most popular scooters in a very short span of time. The new scooter is powered by an air-cooled, 4-stroke 113cc ‘Blue Core’ engine that is paired to a CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission). This engine is good for 7bhp and 8.1Nm of torque. This lifestyle scooter is powered by an 113cc air-cooled single-cylinder blue core engine that is capable of producing a top power output of 7bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 8.1Nm at 5,000rpm. The vehicle’s light-weight (103kg) body helps it return an impressive 66kmpl of mileage, thus making it the most fuel efficient scooter in its league.
The new Fascino is available in six new paint jobs – Fusion Red, Blending Blue, Mingling Cyan, Unite White, Sassy Cyan and Haute White.
The Fascino’s design language is very curvy and trendy, thanks to its retro-modern styling. With distinctive looks, the front fascia of the scooter is very attractive and appealing. The front also gets a small Yamaha decal, which adds to its sporty look. There is a lot of chrome elements all around the body, which gives it a premium profile. On sides, the scooter looks elegant thanks to its fluific creases and curves. There is a black plastic positioned above the tail-light, which gives it a slightly unique look. It comes with an under seat storage of 21-litres that can accommodate a full-sized helmet.
Dimensionally, the new Fascino measures 1,815mm in length, 675mm in width and 1,120mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,270mm. With a seat height of 775mm, the scooter offers a comfortable posture for short height people. The ground clearance stands at 130mm, which is good enough to tackle Indian city road conditions.
