TVS Motor Company has launched the 2017 TVS Jupiter automatic scooter in the Indian two-wheeler market. Equipped with BSIV compliant engine, the 2017 model is priced at Rs 49,666 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It also comes equipped with Auto Headlamp On (AHO), which means it misses out on headlamp switchgear. Adding to it, the Jupiter now gets Sync Braking System (SBS) as standard across the range. As a reminder, SBS was earlier offered only on the top-end ZX trim. This system further enhances the braking system as it automatically activates the front brakes when the rear brakes are used.
The new Jupiter is also available with two new colour options – Jade Green and Mystic Gold. Powering the scooter is the same 109.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled OHC engine that is good for 8PS and 8Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a CVT automatic unit. It also features the patented Econometer technology, which guides the rider in both Eco and Power mode.
Other two-wheeler manufacturers like Honda and Bajaj have already taken this proactive measure by updating their product lineup. While the Honda has recently come up with the new Activa 4G scooter, the Bajaj introduced the new Avenger and Pulsar RS200, NS200 and Pulsar 150. Just so you know, the BSIV emission norms will be mandatory from 1st April 2017. With less than a month to go, all two-wheeler manufacturers are paced up achieving the BSIV compliance for all their models. Read – TVS Akula 310 – All You Need To Know
