January 18, 2017 – Tata Motors has added a new model; Tata Hexa to its new breed of cars (as we may call it) based on the new ‘IMPACT’ design philosophy seen lately in cars like Tiago. The SUV was revealed before auto aficionados and auto enthusiasts at the previous year’s Delhi Auto Expo. It is to be noted that Tata Motors had brought a more rugged version of the SUV, dubbed Hexa Tuff Concept to the biennial event.

The company also offers a customisable Tuff Kit on the SUV with additional features. There are other add-on kits along with Tuff, namely-Expedition and Luxe kit, available for an additional price. While the base model of the Hexa is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh, the range-topping variant costs Rs 17.49 lakh (all ex-showroom, Delhi). At this price, it undercuts prices of the Mahindra XUV500 and Toyota Innova Crysta. Here, we bring you the nitty-gritty details that may help prospective buyers make a buying decision.

Power in abundance

Replacing the ageing Tata Aria in Tata Motors’ product portfolio, the new seven-seater SUV comes with a powerful diesel engine lineup. The SUV is being offered with a 2.2 litre, 4 cylinder, VARICRO 320 and 2.2 litre, 4-cylinder VARICOR 400 powertrain options. Entry level XE variant is powered by the 2.2 litre VARICOR 320 motor that develops 148bhp of power and 320Nm of torque between 1,700 to 2,700rpm. The higher trims, on the other hand, are euqipped with the 2.2 litre, VARICOR 400 unit yielding power worth 154.2bhp against 400Nm of torque between 1,700 to 2,700rpm. With such massive power on offing, Tata Hexa becomes one of the most powerful SUVs in its league. Read More – Tata Hexa Vs Toyota Innova Crysta
