Tata Motors had showcased the Hexa Tuff during the 2016 Auto Expo in February. This time, the company unveiled the production spec model, which looks slightly different than the concept showcased at the biennial event. The homegrown automaker hasn't revealed the features of the Tuff, but the pictures reveal most of its details.
The SUV has received a lot of chrome garnish on the exterior. There is a chrome treatment below the bootlid, chrome garnish for the headlamps and the tail-lamps. The vehicle also gets chrome door handles and chrome ORVM caps.
In order to give it a rugged look, the company has added additional plastic cladding around body and plastic cladding at the front as well as the rear. Other design elements include roof box, bicycle mounts and a tyre rack.
Inside the cabin, the Tata Hexa Tuff looks identical to the regular model, except for the few changes. It features heads-up display, a sun-roof and a wireless charging for iPhone.
Under the bonnet of the Hexa Tuff is a 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine that is capable of producing 156PS of power and a peak torque of 400Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The SUV also has four driving modes - Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road. The rotary multi-drive mode selector allows the driver to alter engine, ABS, ESP and AWD settings. While the manual variants will get selectable drive modes, the automatic model has "Sport Mode".
