Tata Harrier SUV Teaser Video Released; Launch Early Next Year

Tata Harrier SUV is surely one of the much-awaited launches of the next year. While the launch of the premium 5-seater SUV is scheduled to happen early 2019, the carmaker had teased the vehicle via official pictures. Further increasing fans’ anticipation, Tata Motors has released yet another teaser video of the Harrier revealing its chassis and describes how the SUV has been “tested for endurance, engineered for perfection”.

The teaser video says that the Tata Harrier has been tested for 2.2 million kilometers on the toughest of terrains and engineered for durability. Based on the Tata H5X concept that broke cover at the 2018 Auto Expo, the Harrier SUV is reported to make its public debut at the Mumbai Marathon on 20th January, 2019.

The all-new Tata Harrier will be the brand’s first product to be designed on the OMEGARC (Optimal Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture), which is developed jointly by Tata Motors and Jaguar Land Rover. It’s the derived of JLR’s D8 architecture. Tata claims that the new monocoque platform has been designed to deliver the best bending and torsional stiffness. Visually, the production-ready Tata Harrier will look quite similar to its H5X concept. Featuring the company’s second-generation IMPACT Design 2.0 philosophy, the SUV is likely to drive its power from the Fiat-sourced 2.0L Multijet II diesel engine that also does duty in the Jeep Compass. Transmission options on offer might include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit (sourced from Hyundai).
