Hyundai AH2 (New Santro) To Return 20.3kmpl Mileage – Report

The new Santro (AH2) will be Hyundai’s first car to get AMT gearbox.

Hyundai AH2 (New Hyundai Santro 2018) small car is all set to hit Indian roads on 23rd October. While the launch of the hatchback is just a few weeks away, its engine and mileage details have been leaked online. According to a media report, Hyundai’s new small car will feature a 1.1L, four-cylinder petrol engine that’s good for 68bhp (69PS) and 99Nm of torque.

While a 5-speed manual transmission will be standard across the carline, a 5-speed AMT (automated manual transmission) will come as an option. With this, the new Santro will become Hyundai’s first car to get the AMT gearbox that will be named ‘Smart Auto’. Compared to its arch rivals – the Renault Kwid and the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, the Hyundai AH2 (new Hyundai Santro 2018) will be slightly less frugal. While the Kwid delivers mileage between 22.5kmpl -25.17kmpl, the Celerio offers a claimed fuel economy of 23.1kmpl. The hatchback is also reported to come in seven colour options – Marina Blue, Polar White, Diana Green, Stardust, Fiery Red, Imperial Beige and Sleek Silver. Feature-wise, the The Hyundai AH2 (new Hyundai Santro 2018) will be more loaded than the old model. Reports suggest that the carmaker might also improve safety levels of the hatchback. It is likely to come with the standard dual airbags, rear parking sensors, rear view camera and ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution). The Hyundai AH2 (new Hyundai Santro 2018) carline will be available in five grades – Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O) and Asta. Prices of the hatchback are likely to fall in the range of Rs 4 lakh – Rs 6 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
