The Skoda Kodiaq RS is the company’s first model to get Dynamic Sound Boost system.

Skoda Auto has revealed the performance-oriented Kodiaq RS SUV via official pictures. The company claims that the ‘RS’ stands for “the perfect combination of a sporty driving experience and excellent suitability for daily use”. Positioned as the range-toping variant, the Skoda Kodiaq RS houses a 2.0-litre biturbo diesel injected diesel engine that can do 0-100kmph in 7 seconds with a top speed of 220kmph. Read: Skoda Karoq SUV – 5 Interesting Facts

On the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife, the Kodiaq RS sets a lap record for seven-seater SUVs with a time of 9 minutes, 29.84 seconds. It delivers a peak power of 240bhp against 500Nm of torque between 1750rpm and 2500rpm. The biturbo oil burner also features brake energy recovery, a Stop-start system and thermo management system. The Skoda Kodiaq RS is the company’s first model to get Dynamic Sound Boost system with three modified sound levels – Comfort, Normal and Sport. The adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) with driving mode select adds more to its performance and drivability. Visually, the Skoda Kodiaq RS appears sportier than the regular model. Some of its design highlights include gloss black radiator grille, roof rails, wing mirrors and window frames, RS badge, bespoke front and rear bumpers and newly-designed 20-inch alloy wheels. The Virtual Cockpit system of the interior Skoda Kodiaq RS has bespoke display mode showing speed in the centre and a rev counter. Features such as Alcantara-covered seats and door trims with contrasting stitching, carbon fibre-effect instrument panel, ambient LED lighting, black roof lining, tinted windows and stainless steel pedals add more to its sporty look.
