7. Tata Tiago Electric
Tiago hatchback is the game changer for Tata Motors. In order to keep up its sales momentum, the home-grown carmaker is planning to bring in an AMT and electric version of the hatchback. The Tiago electric concept was first previewed at the 2017 LCV (Low Carbon Emission Vehicles Show) in UK. The electric hatchback comes with an 85kW, liquid-cooled drive motor combined with a 6-speed gearbox and front-wheel drive system. This battery system delivers 200Nm of torque, and an electric range of over 100kms. It can accelerate 0-100kmph in less than 11 seconds, while maintaining a top speed of 135kmph. According to media reports, Tata will use the hatchback’s low-cost platform for its electrifications. This will help the company achieve competitive pricing. It will be developed by Tata’s European Technical Centre.
