The coming weeks will be action-packed for the Indian automobile industry as several big cars/SUVs are ready to hit roads. Here’s a brief of the top 8 new models, which will go on sale in the month of June and July 2022.
Volkswagen Virtus
VW’s upcoming mid-size sedan will see a release on 9th June 2022. The model lineup will be available in 6 variants with two turbo petrol engines and 6 colour options. There will be a 1.0L TSI and a 1.5L TSI motor generating power worth 115PS and 150PS respectively. Similar to the Skoda Slavia, the new Volkswagen Virtus has been designed on the MQB A0-IN platform and measures 4561mm in length. New Hyundai Venue
Hyundai India will announce prices of the updated Venue SUV on 16th June 2022. Bookings have already been commenced at initial sum of Rs 21,000. While its engine-gearbox combinations will remain unchanged, the compact SUV has received a few exterior and interior upgrades. It carries Hyundai’s latest Sensuous Sportiness design language along with new Palisade-inspired grille, split headlamp setup, new alloy wheels, re-designed tailgate and new taillamps. Mahindra Scorpio-N
Prices of the new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N will be revealed on 27th June 2022. The SUV will come with the new 2.2L mHawk turbo diesel and 2.0L mStallion petrol engines with the optional 4-mode 4X4 drivetrain system. It’s reported to have better approach & departure angles, rear penta-link suspension with FSDs, improved handling and cornering performance and higher ground clearance than the existing model. New Maruti Brezza
The next-generation Maruti Suzuki Brezza is all set to witness a market launch on 30th June 2022. Under the hood, the SUV will employ a new 1.5L K15C Dualjet petrol engine making 103bhp and 137Nm. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a new 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. Features such as connected car tech, sunroof, hill hold assist, 6 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system and electronic stability control could be reserved for the higher trims. Citroen C3
Launch date of the new Citroen C3 premium hatchback is yet to be announced. Though, the model is reported to go on sale in mid June 2022. The hatch will be offered with the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2L turbo petrol engine options. The automaker has used the CMP modular platform for the C3 and achieved over 90 percent localization levels. It has been packed with features such as a digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a flat bottom steering, double slat grille and split LED headlamps. Toyota Hyryder
Toyota Kirloskar Motor is ready to foray into the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment with the all-new Hyryder. The model will make its debut on 1st July, followed by its launch in August 2022. The SUV is reported to be named ‘Toyota Hyryder’. It will be based on the heavily localised TNGA-B platform and come with two petrol engines boosted with mild and strong hybrid technology. The petrol motor with stronger hybrid system will have bigger battery pack, electric motors and it will be capable to run only on EV mode. New Honda WR-V
Honda’s WR-V subcompact SUV will soon receive a mid-life update in the country. The prototype of the updated model was recently spotted testing without any camouflage revealing its design details. The new 2022 Honda WR-V will have a completely revised front fascia featuring a new grille with different inserts and a chrome strip above it, updated bumper and new projector headlamps. Inside, it might get a few new features. For power, the new WR-V is likely to the existing 90PS, 1.2L and 100PS, 1.5L diesel engines. The carmaker might introduce the updated WR-V with an automatic gearbox.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus
Mahindra & Mahindra will soon launch the new Bolero Neo Plus, which will essentially be the longer 9-seater version of the TUV300 Plus. The model is likely to be offered with 7 and 9-seats configurations and side facing bench-type seats in the third row. It’s overall length, width and height will stand at 440mm, 1795mm and 1812mm respectively. The Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus will be available in P4 and P10 trims powered by a 118bhp, 2.2L diesel engine.
