Mahindra Scorpio-N – Off-road Capable, No ADAS, No Panoramic Sunroof

Within 20 years of its existence, the Mahindra Scorpio witnessed multiple updates in the country. Now, the company is going to give it a generation change in the next couple of weeks. Interestingly, the current generation model will be sold alongside the new model. Though, it will be named 2022 Mahindra Scorpio Classic and come with minor updates. The Mahindra Scorpio-N will be the next-generation version with significantly improved styling, upmarket interior and more powerful engines.

Ahead of its official market launch, new details of the Scorpio-N have emerged on the web. As per the latest information, it will miss out on the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and panoramic sunroof. Features such as a 12-speaker Sony audio system with 3D sound staging, infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, driver drowsiness detection and electronic stability programe will be carried forward from the Mahindra XUV700.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N Features

The new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N will have brown leatherette interior, push button start/stop, dual zone climate control, cruise control, tilt & telescopic steering wheel, new instrument cluster and more. The SUV is claimed to offer the highest commanding seating in its category. While its manual version will come with 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, the automatic version will be available with 18-inch dual-tone units. Off-road capabilities of the new Scorpio N will surely better than the existing model. The new model will have a ground clearance of 205mm (increased by 25mm). Reports suggest that the SUV will come with the rear penta-link suspension with FSDs, improved handling and cornering performance, optional 4-mode 4X4 drivetrain system (with both petrol and diesel engines) and better approach & departure angles.

The new Mahindra Scorpio N diesel with 2.2L mHawk turbo motor manual and automatic gearboxes will deliver power worth 172bhp with 370Nm and 172bhp with 400Nm respectively. The petrol variants will source power from the 2.0L mStallion unit generation 197bhp.
