These figures show that the Amaze’s sales have grown over 6 times from the same month last year.

It’s just been over two weeks the new-generation Honda Amaze made its entry in the Indian market. In this short duration, the sedan recorded a total monthly sales of 9,789 units, thus making it the highest ever sales for a single Honda model in the country. These figures show that the Amaze’s sales have grown over 6 times from the same month last year.  In May 2018, Honda Cars India (HCI) registered a total sales of 15,864 units accounting a growth of 41% against the same month of last year.

Available in four grades – E, S, V and VX – the new Honda Amaze is the first car in its league to feature a 7-speed CVT gearbox with paddle shifters. Interestingly, it’s also the first Honda car to get the CVT with diesel powertrain. The diesel version of the sedan makes use of the 1.5-litre i-DTEC four-cylinder unit that’s good enough for 98.6bhp and 160Nm. Read: New Honda Amaze – Positives & Negatives

Power for the petrol model comes from a 1.2-litre i-VTEC motor delivering 99.7bhp and 110Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard across the carline. Prices of the new Amaze petrol range from Rs 5.59 lakh to Rs 7.59 lakh, and the diesel models cost between Rs 6,.69 lakh to Rs 8.67 lakh. The automatic petrol S and V trims are available at Rs 7.39 lakh and Rs 7.99 lakh respectively. The diesel-powered S CVT costs Rs 8.39 lakh and the V CVT is priced at Rs 8.99 lakh.
