New Honda Amaze will be the first car in its segment to be equipped with paddle shifters and diesel CVT automatic option

Honda Amaze sub-4 meter sedan is all set to enter into new generation model. The new model made its world-premiere at the Auto Expo 2018 in February this year. Bookings for the sedan have already been commenced, while the launch is scheduled in May 2018. Adding to it, Honda has updated its official website and reveals the details of the upcoming car.

In terms of design highlights, the new Amaze gets headlamp with LED position light (On and Off function), shark fin antenna, rear combination lamp, power folding outside rear view mirrors with LED turn indicators and all-new alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the new Honda Amaze 2018 gets newly designed dashboard with soft touch materials. In terms of features, the sedan has multi-functional steering wheel with cruise control, paddle shifter, push start/stop system and a new floating DIGIPAD 2.0 touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The second generation Honda Amaze is based on an all-new platform, which is also expected to underpin a sub-4 meter SUV. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that also powers the outgoing car. This engine is capable of producing 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. On the flip side, the oil burner is a 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit that is good for 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. Both engines will be coupled to an optional CVT automatic unit. The new Amaze will directly rival the new Maruti Dzire. It is expected to be more premium than the outgoing car. The saloon is likely to be priced at Rs 6 lakh for the base petrol model and Rs 6.8 lakh for the entry-level diesel model. The outgoing diesel model is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 25.8kmpl, while the next-model is likely to be more fuel efficient than the outgoing car.
