Buoyed by excellent response for new Amaze, Honda is aiming to launch a range of new cars in India in the next 2 years. The company will re-launch the Civic nameplate, while the CRV will get a 7-seat diesel model before March 2019. Besides, Honda is considering the global HR-V SUV to challenge the likes of Hyundai Creta and Jeep Compass. The company has also started working on the next-generation City sedan, which is likely to be introduced in late 2019 or early 2020. Not just premium products, Honda will also launch the new-generation Brio hatchback that has officially been unveiled at the 2018 GIIAS. The new Honda Brio 2019 is based on the new-generation Amaze platform, which is claimed to be lighter and safer.
The new Honda Brio 2019 model shares styling cues from the Honda Small RS concept, which was showcased at the 2018 Indonesia International Motor Show. Instead of glass rear hatch, the new model gets conventional rear hatch with full tailgate. While the model will go on sale in Indonesia in late 2018 or early 2019, India launch could take place in late 2019 or early 2020. It is powered by the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine producing 89bhp and 110Nm.

Honda has unveiled the new-gen Brio hatchback with sportier styling at the GIIAS 2018. New Honda Brio 2019 Price In India
The next-generation Brio for Indian market will have better equipped cabin with improved material quality. Moreover, the new model will come with BSVI compliant engine. With feature-loaded cabin and BSVI compliant engine, the new Brio will be expensive than the outgoing model. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 5.5 lakh – Rs 9 lakh. New Honda Brio 2019 Specifications
The Indonesian-spec Brio is propelled by the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, which is Euro 4 compliant. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 89bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm. However, the India-spec model will receive the BSVI compliant petrol engine. For people not in the know, BSVI emission norms will be officially implemented in India in early 2019. Similar to the current car, the new-gen Brio won’t come with diesel powertrain. For transmission duties, the hatchback will get a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic unit.

New Honda Brio 2019 Exterior
Design inspiration for the new-gen Brio comes from Honda Small RS concept, which was first unveiled at the 2018 Indonesia International Motor Show earlier this year. The production-ready model also gets a sportier RS variant, which is wrapped in Phoenix Orange Pearl paint. Till B-pillar, the overall profile of the small hatch is largely similar to the previous model. It gets a larger rear door and longer rear overhang. Front fascia of the car is heavily inspired from the Mobilio facelift, which is already on sale in Indonesia. It gets a single bar chrome grille with Honda badge embossed in the centre. There is a mesh treatment below the grille and black glossy plastic above the grille, which adds to its sporty look. It also gets newly designed headlamps with LED light guide. Instead of the all-glass rear hatch in the current car, the new Brio 2019 will come with a conventional bootlid. The rear gets body spoiler with LED high mounted stop light and a rear combination lamp. Talking about Honda Brio RS variant, it gets black front grille with RS Emblem on the mesh part of front grille, black roof, tailgate spoiler with LED high-mounted stop lamp, power retractable door mirrors, side under spoiler and rear bumper with diffuser. While the regular model rides multi-spoke 14-inch alloys, the RS model gets 15-inch unit.
Honda Brio 2019 Interior
Inside the cabin, the 2019 Honda Brio for Indonesian markets share design and features from the Mobilio facelift. It gets the same blackened dashboard with silver lining. In terms of features, the hatchback gets digital air-conditioning unit, tilt adjustable steering, auto door lock by speed and power door mirror, Semi-bucket seats and 2nd row adjustable headrest. On the RS variant, the hatchback gets orange treatment on the dashboard, adjustable headrests for all seats, sporty meter cluster with RS badging and a 6.1-inch Touchscreen Display Audio with Bluetooth and HFT function.
It is expected that the India-spec model will share the cabin features with the new Amaze. The vehicle could receive a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with voice command. The hatchback will get better quality material and fit and finish and newly developed air-conditioning unit. The cabin will have better space for both front and rear occupants.
