Maruti S-PRESSO to be sold through Arena dealership – New details emerge

Maruti Future S Concept

Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the new Ertiga based 6-seater XL6 Crossover MPV, which is exclusively sold through Nexa premium sales and service network. The Indo-Japanese brand is now gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited micro SUV, which was first previewed as Concept Future S at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Likely to be called the Maruti S-Presso, the new micro SUV is rumoured to be launched on September 30, 2019. Though, official launch timeline is yet to be announced.

We reported earlier that the upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will target the first time car buyers. With this model, Maruti Suzuki is aiming to target buyers ageing between 25 and 45. The company will sell this new mini SUV through Arena dealership network, which spread across almost all the regions of the country. Not just urban and semi-urban, the Arena dealership network has strong hold in rural areas as well.

The upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be based on the new generation lightweight Heartect platform, which also underpins the new Wagon R. It will be positioned alongside the Celerio and the Wagon R, and will challenge the likes of the Mahindra KUV100 NXT and the upcoming Tata H2X. Completely designed and developed in-house by Maruti Suzuki engineers, the new S-Presso will be the brand’s newest model to be introduced in the sub-5 lakh category.

The upcoming Maruti S-Presso will be compliant with the new safety and crash test norms. All variants will sport dual airbags, seat belt reminder, rear parking sensors and ABS as standard. It will be fitted with Suzuki’s Studio smartplay infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It is likely to receive the BS6 compliant 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 81.80bhp and 113Nm. It might also get a 1.0L, 3-cylinder engine. Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and AMT.
