Renault Kwid facelift Launching in September 2019

Renault City K-ZE Launch

French automaker, Renault is gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited Triber MPV on August 28, 2019. The company is also readying the facelift version of the Kwid hatchback, which has been spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads. A new media report claims that the market launch and price announcement for the Kwid facelift will take place in September 2019.

The styling of the Renault Kwid facelift will be inspired by the Kwid KZE concept, which was showcased at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show. In terms of styling updates, the 2020 Renault Kwid will have split headlamps with Led DRLs on top and main headlamp on the lower bumper. Other changes include new bumpers, new hub caps, revised tail light with Led inserts, and revised wheels. The Kwid facelift will also receive structural upgrades to meet the upcoming crash test and safety norms.

The cabin of the new Kwid facelift will receive major changes. The hatch will come with revised dashboard and new instrument console, which will be shared with the new Triber. It will also get restyled air-conditioning vents for better air flow and new steering wheel. It is likely to come with the new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which will be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Renault Kwid facelift won’t receive mechanical changes. Engine options will include a 0.8-litre 3-cylinder petrol and a 1.0-litre petrol. While the former is good for 54bhp and 72Nm of torque, the 1.0L unit produces 68bhp and 91Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The engines will be BS4 compliant, but Renault will introduce the BS6 compliant model in early 2020. The Renault Kwid facelift will take on the likes of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and Tata Tiago.
