Mahindra XUV300 Bookings

The sub-4 meter Mahindra XUV300 SUV will receive a 6-speed AMT in both petrol and diesel guise.

Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown automaker will finally launch the XUV300 Automatic in the Indian market this month. The sub-4 meter SUV will receive a 6-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) in both petrol and diesel guise. The SUV will rival the Tata Nexon AMT (available in petrol and diesel) and the Maruti Vitara Brezza AMT (diesel only).

The petrol AMT version of the Mahindra XUV300 will also challenge the petrol automatic versions of the Ford EcoSport and the recently-launched Hyundai Venue. The Ford EcoSport and Hyundai Venue are available with a six-speed torque convertor automatic and a 7-speed DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) respectively.

The Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV is available in 2 engine options – a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel. While the former is good for 110bhp of power and 200Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 115bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. The XUV300 in petrol and diesel offers segment-leading torque. The compact SUV is positioned as a premium model in its category. It comes with the segment-longest wheelbase and a range of segment-leading features. It is expected that the AMT version will cost around Rs 50,000 more than the regular model. Mahindra is also working on updating its engine range to meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The XUV300 petrol will be the brand’s first model to meet the new norms. It is expected to be launched in October, 2019.
