New-Gen Jeep Wrangler Sahara Spotted Ahead Of Its India Launch

Jeep India will soon expand its popular Compass SUV lineup with its new trail rated variant – Jeep Compass Trailhawk. The American SUV maker will also introduce the new-generation Wrangler and Cherokee in the country. Recently, the 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara was spotted testing in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The spy picture reveals design changes made to its front and side profile.
Sitting on the new JL platform, the new Jeep Wrangler will get LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, revised air vents on the front fender, slightly high mounted side windows, pronounced wheel arches with black cladding and black ORVMs and door handles. The keystone-shaped grille and a more rakish windshield will enhance its aerodynamics.
The 2019 Jeep Wrangler will also witness minor dimensional changes. That means, the SUV will have more cabin space to offer. Interior will also be upgraded with features such as an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch TFT LED driver information display, push-button start, longer armrests and more.
Just so you know, the new India-bound Jeep Wrangler achieved only one star in the latest ANCAP (Australasian New Car Assessment Program). In fact, the SUV failed to perform in the Euro NCAP crash test. Globally, the SUV is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The India-spec model is likely to get a 2.2L diesel motor that’s good for 200PS and 488Nm of torque.
