Mahindra Alturas G4, the flagship SUV from the home-grown carmaker, is slated to launch in India on 24th November, 2018. Mahindra’s dealers across the nation have started taking pre-orders for the vehicle at a token amount of Rs 50,000. One must note that the booking sum is fully refundable till 5th December, 2018. Deliveries of the Mahindra Alturas G4 will begin from 26th November. Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed that the dealers will inform the specific waiting period of the SUV to the customers. The company has revealed that the SUV carline will be available in two trims – 2WD AT and 4WD AT – and five colour options – Napoli Black, Lakeside Brown, Regal Blue, Dsat Silver and New Pearl White. The Mahindra Alturas G4 belongs to the high-end SUV segment, and is said to compete with “players that operate in the Rs 30+ lakh price range” (i.e. cars like Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq). While the carmaker hasn’t yet revealed the details of the Alturas G4, it confirmed that its 4WD AT variant will be loaded with some additional feature. Features such as a touchscreen infotainment system with Smartphone connectivity, hill decent control, nine airbags, hill start assist and electronic stability programe are likely to be reserved for the top-spec trim. The Mahindra Alturas G4 will derive its power from a 2.2L, four-cylinder diesel engine churning out power worth 185bhp against 420Nm of torque. Both variants (2WD and 4WD) will be available with an automatic gearbox only.
