Made-in-India Tata Nexon Achieves 4 Stars In Global NCAP Crash Test

The Tata Nexon scored 4 stars for adult occupant protection and 3 stars for child occupant protection.

The Tata Nexon (Made-in-India) has been subjected to the Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) and managed to achieve 4 star safety rating. The subcompact SUV scored 4 stars for adult occupant protection and 3 stars for child occupant protection. The bodyshell has been rated as ‘Stable’. The model frontal offset test was performed at speed of 64kmph at the ADAC test lab in Munich, Germany.

The tested model was equipped with the standard dual airbags, ABS (antilock braking system), ISOFIX anchorages with ISOFIX child restraint systems (CSR) and seatbelt with pretensioners. With robust body built, the Tata Nexon managed to sustain maximum damage to its front end and engine compartment. In fact, the A-pillar sees no major loss, remains almost intact. Dummy readings indicated good protection for the head and neck of both driver and passenger. The Nexon also offers adequate chest protection. What’s really commendable is the car’s stable structure that was stable in the offset deformable barrier crash test. The rearward facing CRS installed with ISOFIX showed good protection to the 18 months old child and the ISOFIX forwards facing installed CRS provided good protection for head and limited protection to the chest.
