Here we bring you 5 good reasons to drive home the Tata Nexon over Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport

Tata Motors entered into the sub-4 meter SUV space with Nexon compact SUV in late 2017. The new vehicle directly rivals the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. It is currently the second best model in its category. Here we bring you 5 good reasons to buy Nexon over Maruti Vitara Brezza

Excellent Pricing

Tata Nexon prices start at Rs 6.16 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 7.18 lakh for the diesel model. While the top-spec petrol model cost Rs 9.62 lakh, the top-spec diesel Nexon is tagged at Rs 10.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

In comparison to Maruti Vitara Brezza, which is available in diesel model only, the Nexon diesel is around Rs 40,000 cheaper. Adding to it, the Nexon petrol is around 1.65 lakh cheaper than Ford EcoSport. Diesel EcoSport is around 2 lakh expensive than the Nexon. Also see – Tata Nexon Gets Sunroof As An Accessory

Feature-loaded cabin

Despite being affordable, the Nexon is equipped with several first-in-segment features. It is equipped with LED daytime running lamps and signature tail-lamps. The compact SUV has a sliding tray in the middle, which is called “Grand Central Console”. This model also has the segment first 6.5-inch floating type HD infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The top-spec model has 8 Harman speakers, which offers segment best sound.

One more unique feature offered with Nexon is the wearable key band, which is designed to lock/unlock and start the car without the need of a physical key. Also See – Tata Nexon AMT Price & Details

Unique design

The Nexon was first showcased to public at the 2014 Auto Expo as a concept. What’s interesting is that the production model looks exactly like the Concept, featuring futuristic styling elements. The model looks completely different than most of the tradition SUVs, which attract a lot of eyeballs.

Instead of flat roof, the Tata Nexon gets a sloping roof that gives it a coupe-SUV like profile. Adding to it, the dual-tone roof colour and vibrant paint options further add to its sporty character.

Excellent Diesel Engine

The Nexon is available with two engine options – 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and 1.5-litre turbo diesel. While the petrol engine is good for 108bhp and 170Nm, the diesel model offers 108bhp and 260Nm. In our review, we find the diesel engine one of the best in its category. This engine offers decent low-end power, and it performance exceptionally well during mid and high-end. The cabin also feels quite while driving the diesel Nexon, which shows Tata efforts to keep diesel clatter in check. Also See – Upcoming Tata Cars In India

Driving modes, HD infotainment system and plastic quality

The Nexon compact SUV offers first-in-segment multiple drive modes – Eco, City and Sport. The driver can choose any mode on the fly, and the shifting to other modes changes the behaviour of the SUV drastically.

The cabin also gets the segment-first HD touchscreen for infotainment system. This system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The touchscreen resolution is very good and the floating unit looks very stylish.

Adding to it, the plastic quality and fit and finish inside the cabin is top-notch. In fact, the seats and upholstery used on door trims and seats are top-notch.
