Tata Motors, homegrown passenger vehicle maker is aiming to achieve 3rd position by the end of this fiscal year. The company will soon launch the Nexon AMT, followed by performance versions of Tigor and Tiago. Besides, the company will launch an all-new 5-seater premium SUV based on H5X concept. Adding to it, Tata Motors will also launch a premium hatchback based on the 45X concept in the second half of 2019. The new model will be the first product to feature the brand’s all-new AMP (Advanced Modular Platform). The Tata 45X will be the company’s global product and will be equipped with several high-end features. It will rival the likes of Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Volkswagen Polo. Speaking to TOI, Mayank Pareek, president PV business, said, “In the first quarter of next year, we will introduce the H5X, a new SUV based on the Omega platform. In the second half of the year, we will launch the premium hatch 45X based on the Alpha platform. Over the next three years, we will develop an entire suite of products, including sedans and other products that are currently missing from our portfolio. Tata H5X First Look Review
Both H5X and 45X will use Tata Motors IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy. The company currently has 6 platforms and 12 platforms. In order to achieve low-cost of development, Tata is aiming to reduce platforms to 2 – Omega and AMP. While the Omega will be used to develop larger sedans, SUVs and MUVs, the AMP platform will be used to develop small cars. Talking about H5X, this premium SUV will rival the Jeep Compass. It will be powered by Fiat sourced 2.0-litre MJD diesel engine that produces 140bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. For transmission duties, the SUV will have a six-speed manual or an all-new automatic gearbox. The vehicle will also get all-wheel-drive layout.
