Last September, Mahindra & Ford had collaborated for the development of their future products. If media reports are to be believed, Ford is working on an all-new C-segment SUV for the Indian market. This model will fill the gap between EcoSport and Endeavour. Mahindra will help the American automaker to develop this premium SUV.
It was speculated that Ford is considering its global model – Kuga – for the Indian market. However, this model will require huge investment and time. Interestingly, Ford will provide its B562 platform to Mahindra for its future electric sedan. Previous reports suggest that Mahindra and Ford collaborated to develop an electric vehicle based on the Ford Aspire. Ford is currently planning to launch the updated versions of Figo, Aspire and Endeavour along with an Figo based cross-hatch – Freestyle in the Indian market in 2018-19 fiscal year. On the other hand, Mahindra will launch an all-new MPV codenamed U321, S201 compact SUV and a 7 Seater premium SUV in India.
