BS6 Honda Dio Launched; Gets 20 Patent Applications

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has rolled out the BS6-compliant Dio scooter in the country.  The updated model comes in two variants – Standard and Deluxe – priced at Rs 59,990 and Rs 63,340 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The scooter is claimed to be packed with “as many as 20 patent applications”. The BS6 Honda Dio celebrates 18 years of India’s first moto-scooter. Powering the BS6 Honda Dio is the 110cc PGM-Fi HET (Honda Eco Technology) engine, which is now boosted with enhanced Smart Power (eSP). It’s claimed to optimize energy output by maximizing efficient combustion and reducing friction with a silent start.

While the Standard variant comes in a choice of four colour schemes – Mat Axis Grey Metallic, Sports Red, Vibrant Orange and Candy Jazzy Red, the Deluxe model is offered in three shades – Mat Axis Grey Metallic, Mat Sangria Red Metallic and Dazzle Yellow Metallic. The BS6 Honda Dio also receives a fully digital meter and side stand indicator with engine cut-off. Design of the scooter has been revised with new body graphics, new DC LED headlamp, signature LED position lamp and new rear split grab rail. There is new integrated dual function switch and new external fuel lid. It comes fitted with new 12-inch front wheel along with the new telescopic suspension. Other highlights include 3-step Eco indicator, on-board diagnostic feature of malfunction light, 3-step adjustable rear suspension, combi-brake system with equalizer, front pocket, passing switch and engine start/stop switch. The company is offering a special 6-years warranty package that includes 3 years standard and 3 years optional extended warranty on the updated Dio.
