Honda Activa Electric Scooter – Is It Coming To India?

The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer offers a total of 11 electric scooters in China. Talking to ETAuto, Minoru Kato, President CEO and MD, HMSI, has also revealed that the company might import a few of them depending on results of their feasibility study. According to a media report, the Japanese two-wheeler maker might use its popular Activa brand and introduce its electric iteration as its first electric scooter in the country. However, there is no official word on the same.
At the 2018 Auto Expo, Honda 2Wheelers previewed the PCX electric scooter in its concept avatar. This model will be an expensive product for the market like India, therefore the company had dropped its launch plan.
Besides launching the electric scooter, Honda plans to increase its touch points from 6,000 to 6,300 by the end of this fiscal year. With the investment of Rs 2,400 crore, the company will upgrade its all 16 models for BS6 emission norms that will be enforced from 1st April, 2020.
