All-New Honda Brio Hatchback Coming Tomorrow at GIIAS 2018

The new-generation Honda Brio will use the new Amaze sedan’s platform, which is claimed to be lighter, stronger and safer.

Japanese automaker, Honda will officially unveil the new-generation Brio hatchback at the GIIAS 2018, which starts 2 August. Besides new Brio, Honda will unveil the 2018 HR-V facelift for the Indonesian market. Talking about Brio, the new model was first previewed at the Honda Small RS concept at the IIMS 2018 in April this year.

The first generation Honda Brio was first launched in 2011, which later received a major makeover in 2016. Indonesia is Honda’s biggest market in the Asia, and the Brio is the company’s top-seller here. The new-generation model will come with sportier look and several new features, and most of the styling will be inspired from the RS concept.

The new-generation Honda Brio will use the new Amaze sedan’s platform, which is claimed to be lighter and safer. In terms of dimensions, the Small RS concept is 3,610mm, 1,680mm and 1,500mm in length, width and height respectively. The wheelbase stands at 2,345mm, which should translate into spacious cabin. Expect similar dimensions in the new Brio as well.

Talking about styling, the new Small RS concept shares design elements from Mobilio facelift, mostly at the front. Front grille and headlight designs are similar to the MPV sibling. The concept was equipped with body kit, air-conditioning vents on the fenders, a hood-scoop and blacked-out treatment. These elements are likely to be offered in the production ready model as well. What’s all new is the new conventional rear design with a full tailgate. The vehicle also gets large alloys, faux diffuser and a rear spoiler.
