The Jeep Renegade is built on the Fiat’s small wide platform that also underpins the Compass. This model measures around 4.2 meters in length, which makes it a direct rival to the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and the upcoming Nissan Kicks. Similar to the Compass, this model will be locally developed at the FCA’s Ranjangaon facility. The 2019 Renegade will also share engine specs with the Compass, which includes a 1.4-litre Multi-Air petrol and a 2.0-litre MJD diesel. Both these engines will be de-tuned for lesser power and torque. Jeep could also use the tried & tested 1.6-litre MJD diesel engine that is good for 118bhp and 320Nm of torque.
