2 New Maruti Suzuki Cars To Launch In Next Few Months

2020 Maruti Swift Facelift Engine

Maruti Suzuki India recently introduced the Dzire facelift with minor cosmetic and feature upgrades along with a more powerful and frugal petrol engine. In the next few months, the Indo-Japanese carmaker will bring in two new models including the Swift facelift and S-Cross petrol. The latter one made its public debut at the 2020 Auto Expo.

Talking about the 2020 Maruti Swift, the facelifted model will come with the 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine sourced from the new Dzire sedan. The BS6-compliant gasoline unit will replace the existing 83PS, 1.2L K12B motor. The Swift’s 75PS, 1.3L DDiS diesel engine is likely to be scrapped out from the model lineup.

The new Dualjet petrol engine will feature the idle start-stop technology that will help improve the vehicle’s fuel economy. It will be boosted with piston cooling jet, higher compression ratio and cooled EGR system. The motor delivers a peak power of 90bhp. In terms of fuel economy, the 2020 Maruti Swift facelift will be as frugal as the updated Dzire. The latter delivers a claimed mileage of 24.12kmpl (MT) and 23.26kmpl (AMT). The new Swift might also receive a new 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system along with new interior trim, an updated instrument console and newly-designed upholstery. On the exterior, the hatchback is likely to feature a new grille, revised bumpers and updated taillamps.

Maruti S-Cross Petrol Auto Expo 2020

The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol will come with the BS6-compliant 1.5L K15B engine boosted with SHVS mild hybrid technology. Its power and torque outputs stand at 103.5bhp and 138Nm respectively. The BS6 Maruti S-Cross petrol will be made available with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox option.

The crossover will also come with a new touchscreen infotainment system supporting latest smartphone apps. The overall design and features of the new S-Cross petrol will be exactly similar to the existing diesel model.
