Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler Trademarked – Triumph, Royal Enfield Rival

Hero Mavrick 440 middleweight motorcycle was introduced earlier this in three variants – Base, Mid and Top – priced at Rs 1.99 lakh, Rs 2.14 lakh and Rs 2.24 lakh. However, its deliveries have started just a few days ago. What’s latest update here is that the indigenous two-wheeler maker recently trademarked a new nameplate for its upcoming bike – Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler.

As the name suggest, the model will be the Scrambler bike built for off-road adventures and street riding purposes. It will be based on the brand’s flagship Mavrick 440 motorcycle with some functional changes such as taller suspension, braced handlebar, spoked wheels, knobby tyres and a flatter bench-type seat. It will be stripped down for higher speed and have high exhaust pipes for ground clearance.

Just so you know, the Mavrick 440 comes with 43mm telescopic fork up front suspension, 17-inch front and rear wheels, and has a ground clearance of 175mm. The new Hero Scrambler bike’s front forks might get gaiters, while the rear springs remain intact. It’s expected to come with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. The bike could also get headlight guard and a bash plate.

While radical changes will be made to its design for making off-road worthy, the new Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler might share the engine with its sibling. That means, it will come with the 440cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled motor that could be slightly tuned for off-road capabilities. In its current state, the engine delivers power worth 27bhp and 36Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be done by the same 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

As of now, there is no official word on the new Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler’s launch timeline. We expect it to hit roads toward the end of 2024 or early 2025. Once launched, it will go up against the Triumph Scrambler 400X, Royal Enfield Scram 411, Yezdi Scrambler and Husqvarna Svartpilen 401. The Mavrick Scrambler will surely be slightly more expensive than its regular version.
