2020 Maruti Swift Facelift To Get A More Powerful Petrol Engine

2020 Maruti Swift Facelift Launch

Maruti Suzuki India will soon give a mid-life update to its highly popular Swift hatchback. The 2020 Maruti Swift facelift will receive a BS6-compliant 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine that was recently introduced on the updated Dzire lineup. The new gasoline motor might come as a replacement to the existing 1.2L K12B petrol engine that’s good enough for 83PS. The carmaker is likely to discontinue the existing 75PS, 1.3L DDiS diesel engine.

The recently-launched 2020 Maruti Dzire facelift comes with new Dualjet petrol motor featuring the first-in-segment idle start-stop technology. Benefited with higher compression ratio, cooled EGR system and piston cooling jet, the new engine is claimed to improve fuel efficiency of the vehicle while reducing friction. Its power output stands at 90bhp.

The same powertrain will be used in the 2020 Maruti Swift facelift. Similar to the Dzire facelift, it will be devoid of 12V mild hybrid system. The new Dzire with Dualjet motor is claimed to return a fuel economy of 24.12kmpl (MT) and 23.26kmpl (AMT). Mileage figures for the 2020 Maruti Swift facelift are likely to be the same. Interior might also be updated with a new 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system. The 2020 Maruti Swift facelift is likely to get an updated instrument console, new interior trim and newly-designed upholstery.
