Maruti Suzuki WagonR hatchback is all set for a generation change in the Indian market. While the official launch of the car is reported to happen before 2018 festive season, a rendered image of the vehicle has been circulating on the internet. The rendered picture highlights the all-new front styling of the hatchback. Though, the new Maruti WagonR continues to carry the tall boy stance.
Design elements such as large honeycomb mesh grille with pronounced horizontal strip, revised front bumper with wider air inlets, sharper headlamps, round-shaped fog lamps with new housing surrounding, signature Suzuki badge and skid plate enhance its aggressive front fascia. The hatchback will also see minor upgrades on the side and rear profile. Interior of the new Maruti Suzuki WagonR is likely to be revised with a pack of new comfort and safety features. Safety equipment such as dual airbags, new crumple zones, reverse parking sensors, a seat-belt warning light and ABS (anti-lock braking system) could be standard on the carline. Under the hood, the new-generation WagonR is likely to feature the same 1.0-litre K-Series petrol engine that’s good for 67bhpp and 90Nm of torque. Interestingly, Maruti Suzuki will use the new-generation HEARTECT platform for the 2018 WagonR hatchback. This lightweight architecture has already been used in the Ignis mini SUV, Baleno premium hatchback, new-generation Swift and Dzire. The new underpinning will make the third-generation WagonR lighter, safer and more fuel efficient than the current model.
