All-New Maruti WagonR Launching Soon – New Details Emerge

New Maruti Suzuki WagonR Details

Based on Suzuki’s new HEARTECT platform, the new Maruti Suzuki WagonR will continue to feature the tall-boy design and spacious cabin.

After launching the new Swift, Maruti Suzuki is now planning to introduce an all-new WagonR in the Indian market. In fact, Maruti Suzuki has already started testing the tall-boy hatchback on Indian roads. If reports are to be believed, the new model will go on sale in the country before festive season, Diwali. Before WagonR, the company will launch the thoroughly modified Ciaz mid-sized sedan by mid-2018.

For people not in the known, Suzuki had launched the new generation Wagon R in the Japanese market. Though, India-bound model will get a completely different design. Like the new Swift, the new WagonR will be based on the new generation Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform which is lighter, stiffer and safer. The new Maruti Suzuki WagonR will carry forward the tall-boy design.

The new Maruti Suzuki WagonR will get a newly designed multiple slat chrome grille with Suzuki moniker embossed in the centre, new headlamp unit and new bumper with a bigger air-dam. At the back, the hatchback will get newly designed LED tail-lamps and new pillar. It comes with clean and simple boot-lid.

New Maruti Swift Review

The cabin will offer more space, thanks to better space management and new HEARTECT platform. It is equipped with new seats, newly designed dashboard and several new features. The hatchback is also expected to get Maruti’s Smartplay infotainment system with connected car applications. ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and dual-front airbags are likely to come as standard. The company is also likely to improve the structural integrity of the hatchback, which will make it more safer than the outgoing car. With new safety features and stronger body, the new WagonR will meet the new safety regulations – Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assesment Program.

The new Maruti Wagon R will continue to feature the existing 1.0-litre K-Series petrol engine that is capable of producing 67bhp of power and 91Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit. For fleet car owners, the new WagonR will also be offered with CNG and LPG options.
