Maruti Suzuki is all set to revive the entry-level car segment in the country. The company will launch an all-new entry-level model in India in 2019. Besides Maruti, Hyundai will launch the all-new Santro hatchback during festive season, Diwali. This new model will be brand’s cheapest model, and will replace the Eon hatchback.
According to the Business standard, Maruti’s new entry-level model is likely to be launched in February 2019. This new model is expected to be based on the Concept Future S, which was unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. It is also expected that the new car could be the next-generation Alto.

Government will soon introduce the stringent crash test norms in India. Models like Alto and Eon won’t likely to meet the new norms. Coming back to the new model, the new model will have crossover-like design and is expected to be positioned somewhere between the Celerio and WagonR. This model is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre K-Series petrol engine that produces 67bhp and 91Nm of torque. Both manual and AMT options will be on offer.
