Japanese automaker, Honda has showcased the long-awaited 10th generation Honda Civic at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. This is undoubtedly the most exciting product showcased alongside new Honda cars at Auto Expo 2018. The company has showcased the current model at the auto event, which will soon get a facelift in global markets. Honda has confirmed that they will launch the upgraded version of the Civic sedan in the market in 2019.

What’s most interesting is that Honda is planning to locally develop the Civic nameplate, which should help them achieving aggressive price tag. It is designed and developed on a new chassis, which is lighter, stiffer and safer. The sedan comes with edgier and more angular stance, which makes it look completely different from its predecessor. The new Honda Civic features the company’s new EXCITING H design philosophy, featuring stylish LED headlamps, bold character lines, LED tail-lamps and sporty alloy wheels.

The new model has fastback-like profile that gives it a sporty stance. At the back, the sedan has prominent tail-lamp and nicely formed C-pillar that flows nicely into the tailgate. The sedan has an all-black interior, but the India-spec model could get a black and beige scheme. It is equipped with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. Other features include automatic climate control, multi-functional steering wheel, leather seats, rear air-conditioning vents, etc.

The biggest update to the Civic sedan will come in the form of diesel engine under the bonnet. It will be powered by a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, which is capable of producing 118bhp and 300Nm of torque. In fact, Honda has already started producing this sedan at its Tapukara, Rajasthan plant. The gasoline version of the car will get a 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine that churns out 139bhp of power and 174Nm of torque. For transmission duties, the sedan will have a six-speed manual and a CVT automatic unit with paddle shifters. Read More
