New Renault MPV

With an aim to foray into the premium MPV segment, the French carmaker will introduce an all-new MPV based on the Kwid hatchback. The company has confirmed that its new MPV will measure sub-4 meter in length and comes with seven-seats layout. It might share some its styling elements with the Renault Espace and Secenic including short overhangs, front grille and headlamps design and flared wheelbase. Interior features could be borrowed from the newly-launched Captur such as 3 spoke multifunction steering wheel, infotainment system with touchscreen display, digital speedometer, etc. Besides sharing features, the new MPV might also borrow its engines with its elder sibling. Once launched in India, the Grand Scenic will take on the Maruti Ertiga and Datsun GO+.

Renault Kwid Compact SUV (HBC)

The Renault Kwid-based compact SUV (codenamed HBC) is one of the much-awaited upcoming new Renault cars in India. While the official launch details are yet to be revealed, it is expected to hit the Indian roads sometime in 2018-19. This new compact SUV will share its platform, design features and equipment with the Kwid hatchback. The new compact SUV is expected to get a 1.2-litre petrol engine. The company might not launch the diesel version of the SUV, owning to decreasing demand for oil burners in India. The Kwid HBC might come with the regular 5-speed manual transmission and an Easy-R AMT gearbox.

Renault Compact Sedan (LBC)

With an aim to tap the growing compact sedan market in India, the French carmaker is planning to introduce a sub-4 meter sedan that will be based on the Kwid’s CMF-A modular platform. Since this platform is highly localized and low-cost, we can safely say that the Renault Kwid compact sedan (LBC) will be priced quite competitively against its rivals like Honda Amaze and Maruti Swift Dzire. The small sedan could get a newly developed 1.2-litre petrol engine paired to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
