Maruti Suzuki will source the hybrid technology from Toyota. The Ciaz, Ertiga, Vitara Brezza and Baleno will also receive the Toyota’s sourced hybrid technology. This technology will help Maruti cars to meet the CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) norms by 2022-23. Adding to it, Toyota will also launch the revised versions of the Innova Crysta and the Fortuner in India. The Yaris sedan could also receive the hybrid version in near future. With new products from Maruti Suzuki, Toyota will be able to utilise its plant and further improve its India operations. Previous media reports claim that Toyota will start manufacturing the Vitara Brezza at its Bidadi plant from 2022.
