The Maruti S-Presso micro SUV will go on sale during Diwali, 2019

We reported earlier that Maruti will launch an all-new mini SUV, based on the Concept Future S this year. Media reports claim that the new model, codenamed Y1K could be called the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso. Scheduled to be launched during festive season, the upcoming small SUV will take on the likes of the Renault Kwid, the Mahindra KUV100 and the upcoming Tata H2X.

The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso micro-SUV has recently been spotted testing, which reveals the brand’s new design direction. The spy images reveal that the small car will have an upright and imposing front fascia with short bonnet and big pillars along with high ground clearance. The small SUV will come with wraparound headlamps with LED daytime running lights for the top-spec model. The rear images reveal a compact design with wrap-around tail-lamps, roof rails and beefier bumper with possible black plastic cladding. Maruti S-Presso Spied rear

The cabin of the Maruti S-Presso is expected to offer decent space with modern comfort and convenience features. It will get the touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. This touch will also work as a display for the rear parking camera. The Maruti S-Presso is completely designed and developed by MSIL’s R&D facility in Rohtak, Haryana. With heavily localised model, MSIL is expected to pay less than 4 percent royalty to the parent company Suzuki. The small SUV will be sold exclusively through Maruti Suzuki ARENA dealership network. It will be powered by a BS6 compliant 1.0-litre K-Series petrol engine that also powers the Wagon R. Both manual and AMT versions will be on offer.
