The coming months will surely be exciting for the automobile enthusiasts as several new product launches and unveilings have been scheduled across different segments. Here’s a brief on the top upcoming models that will arrive by September/October 2021.

Skoda Kushaq

The Czech carmaker will announce prices of the new Skoda Kushaq on 28th June and its deliveries will start from 12th July 2021. It will be Skoda’s first model to be designed on the India-specific MQB AO IN platform. The SUV will be offered in Active, Ambition and Style trims and two turbocharged petrol engines – 115bhp, 1.0L and 150bhp, 1.5L. The more powerful 1.5L engine will be introduced in the month of August.

Reports suggest that Toyota’s rebadged version of the Maruti Ciaz sedan will arrive in August 2021. It’s likely to be introduced with ‘Toyota Belta’ nameplate. Minor cosmetic changes will be made to the model. Under the hood, it will feature the same 1.5L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol motor that’s good for 104bhp and 138Nm. For performing transmission duties, it will have 5-speed manual and 4-speed torque convertor automatic gearboxes.

Volkswagen Taigun

Volkswagen Taigun Bookings

Volkswagen Taigun, which is currently in its final testing phase, is reported to launch in August 2021. Similar to the Kushaq, it will be built on VW Group’s MQB AO IN platform and come with the 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo petrol engine options. While a 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard, a 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed DSG transmission will be reserved for the 1.0L petrol and 1.5L petrol variants respectively. The carmaker says that Taigun will be “safest, strongly built SUV” in its segment.

Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to launch the all-new XUV700 7-seater SUV in coming months. As per the fresh reports, the model will enter into production towards the end of July and its launch will take place in August 2021. A latest teaser video confirms that the Mahindra XUV700 will offer ‘Auto Booster headlamps’, which is usually offered on high-end cars. It will be made available with the new 2.2L mHawk diesel and 2.0L turbo petrol engines making power close to 185bhp and 190bhp respectively.

New-Gen Maruti Celerio

The second-generation Maruti Celerio is reported to see a release in September 2021. The hatchback will witness significant dimensional changes along with improved styling, new features and a more refined 1.2L petrol engine. The new gasoline unit, which will be borrowed from the WagonR, makes 83bhp with 113Nm of torque. The existing 1.0L petrol engine (67bhp/90Nm) will also continue to power the hatchback. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be on offer. Prices of the 2021 Maruti Celerio will be more or less similar to the existing model.

New Mahindra Bolero Neo

The new Mahindra TUV300 facelift is reported to be introduced as Mahindra Bolero Neo. The new model is likely to hit roads in September 2021. The original boxy stance will be retained, while the front fascia will be revised thoroughly. Interior will be updated with bunch of new features. Powering the SUV will be the same BS6 100bhp, 1.5L diesel engine with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.

Honda 7-Seater SUV N7X

The Japanese carmaker recently unveiled the Honda N7X concept that previews the brand’s upcoming 6/7-seater model. Its production version is reported to be unveiled in August 2021. The N7X concept based SUV is likely to be introduced as a replacement of the Honda BR-V. Designed on Honda’s Man Maximum Machine Minimum philosophy, the three-row SUV is likely to be offered with 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol engines.

Hyundai AX1

Hyundai AX1 Headlamp, Tail-lamp teased

The South Korean carmaker has been working on a mini SUV (codename AX1) that was spotted testing multiple times. Media reports claim that its production will start in September 2021. It’s likely to be based on the Grand i10 Nios’ platform and could be made available with 68bhp, 1.1L and 82bhp, 1.2L petrol engine options. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be on offer. The new Hyundai mini SUV will compete with the upcoming Tata HBX concept based vehicle.

Tata HBX concept based micro SUV is inches close to its production. While its official launch is reported to happen in October, the final model is expected to be revealed in September 2021. The mini SUV will share some of its key design bits and features with the Harrier. Under the hood, it might employ 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2L turbo petrol engines making 86bhp with 113Nm and 100bhp respectively. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT unit.

The new-generation Suzuki Vitara SUV is likely to be debut in October, followed by its European launch. The model might sit on the modified version of the existing platform. The SUV will receive comprehensive changes inside and out. For power, the new Vitara will use the 1.4L K14D Boosterjet petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid technology. The latter one consists of a 13.6PS electric motor and 48V battery pack with 8Ah of capacity.
