The 2021 Suzuki Vitara will retain the SUV-ish stance but witness comprehensive cosmetic upgrades. The front fascia is likely to be revised with sharply designed headlamps and taller radiator grille. The bold shoulder lines, prominent waistline and a rakish rear glass will further enhance its sportier looks.

Compared to the current generation that measures 4175mm in length, 1775mm in width and 1610mm in height, the new one will be longer, wider and taller. The wheelbase, however, will remain unchanged.

Significant changes will also be made inside the cabin. The new Suzuki Vitara 2021 will come with a fully digital instrument cluster with customizable layouts, wireless charging, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, ambient mood lighting, HD touchscreen infotainment system and electronic parking brake. The 2021 Suzuki Vitara might underpin the modified version of the existing platform.

Powering the SUV will be a 1.4L K14D Boosterjet petrol engine boosted with SHVS mild hybrid system. Suzuki’s SHVS technology includes 48V battery pack with 8Ah of capacity and a 13.6PS electric motor.

The battery pack comes with several engine assistance functions such as torque boost, torque-fill control and idle stop.

As of now, Maruti Suzuki has no plan to bring in the Vitara SUV in India. Rumor has it that the Indo-Japanese carmaker aims to foray into the premium 7-seater SUV segment in coming years. The company will introduce the new-generation Vitara Brezza subcompact SUV during 2021 festive season. The new Maruti Suzuki crossover based on the Baleno hatchback and a mid-size SUV developed with Toyota are also scheduled to hit roads in the next 2 years.
