Jawa Perak

Jawa Motorcycles will start taking pre-orders for the Perak Custom Bobber in India from September 2019. The motorcycle is expected to be launched in the last quarter of this year. Priced at Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Jawa Perak is a modern-classic factory custom bobber and is based on the slightly modified chassis that underpins the Classic and Forty Two. In terms of styling, the motorcycle gets a single cantilever seat, mono-shock suspension and a redesigned swingarm. Powering the motorcycle is a 334cc, DOHC, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, fuel-injected engine that is capable of producing 30bhp of power and 31Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle won’t have a direct competition in the market, though it could impact the sales of RE Classic and Thunderbird 350.

Launch – End of 2019
Expected Price – Rs 1.89 lakh

Suzuki Gixxer 250

The long-awaited Suzuki Gixxer 250cc motorcycle will finally go on sale in India this year. If media reports are to be believed, the motorcycle will be showcased to dealerships in January. An official launch could take place in March 2019, while deliveries could commence from April 2019. The motorcycle will be powered by a new 250cc engine, which is expected to deliver around 22-25bhp of power.

Price – Rs 1.35 lakh – Rs 1.5 lakh

Hero XPulse 200 & 200T

Hero MotoCorp will launch 2 new 200cc motorcycles in India this year. The company will introduce the XPulse 200 adventure and XPulse 200T tourer motorcycles in the first quarter of 2019. The new bikes are powered by a 200cc four-stroke engine. This air-cooled, fuel-injected engine gets a single overhead camshaft driving two valves. It is capable of producing a maximum power output of 18bhp and a peak torque of 17Nm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox.

Launch – February-March 2019
Price – Rs 1 lakh

Yamaha MT-15

This is one exciting motorcycle from the Japanese brand. Already on sale in select Asian markets, the MT-15 is basically the naked version of the popular R15 V3.0. The motorcycle shares design cues from the bigger MT series bikes. In India, it will challenge the likes of TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Hero Xtreme 200R and Bajaj Pulsar NS200. It will be powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 19bhp of power and 14.8Nm of torque.

Launch – April 15, 2019
Price – Rs 1.20 lakh

KTM 390 Adventure

This is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated motorcycles of the year. The 390 Adventure motorcycle will be based on the Duke 390’s platform and will share the engine as well. It will be powered by a 373cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor paired to a six-speed gearbox. However, this engine will be tuned for different state of power outputs. It is expected to be showcased at the 2019 EICMA Motor Show in Milan.

Launch – November-December 2019
Price – Rs 3.5 lakh

Benelli Leoncino 250

Italian two-wheeler maker will introduce the baby Leoncino 250cc scrambler in India in 2019. The design is heavily inspired from the bigger sibling – Leoncino 500, though it is more compact and sportier in looks. It gets oval-shaped LED headlight setup, curvy fuel tank and exposed engine setup gives it a neo-retro naked styling. It is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine that is paired to a six-speed gearbox. This engine is capable of producing 25.8PS of power at 9,250rpm and 21.2Nm of torque at 8,000rpm.

Launch – Mid-2019
Price – Rs 2 lakh
