Suzuki Jimny’s Demand Is Way Higher Than Production

Suzuki will be able to deliver around 1,100 units of the new Jimny this year.

The new-generation Suzuki Jimny mini off-roader was unveiled for the European market in July, 2018. And it seems that SUV has impressed buyers with its off-road capabilities and revised modern styling. Suzuki U.K boss Dale Wyatt confirmed Autocar that the 4,500 people showed their interest in the new Jimny on its official UK website.

The demand of the new Suzuki Jimny 2019 is staggering in Japan as well. Therefore, the carmaker has limited deliveries of the SUV to RHD (right-hand-drive) markets such as England. In Japan, the new Suzuki Jimny 2019 is made available with a 658cc turbocharged, three-cylinder engine that’s good for 63bhp and 96Nm of torque. The Europe-spec version, on the other hand, makes use of a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine pushing out 102hp and 130Nm of peak torque. Transmission on offer includes a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic unit, supported by AWD (all-four wheels) system.

In the recent Euro NCAP crash test, the new Suzuki Jimny 2019 received 3 stars safety rating. It gets 73% for Adult Occupant Protection, 84% for Child Occupant Protection and 50% for Safety Assist Systems. The subjected model was loaded with six airbags and ISOFIX anchorages.
