2018 Suzuki Jimny Achieves 3 Star Rating In Euro NCAP Crash Test
The tested model was the Jimny 1.5L GLX variant equipped with six airbags and autonomous emergency braking system.
The Euro NCAP (the New Car Assessment Programme) has subjected the new Suzuki Jimny to crash tests and the SUV achieved three stars safety rating. The vehicle scored 73 percent in Adult Occupant Protection, 84 percent in Child Occupant Protection and 50 percent for Safety Assist Systems. With a total of 25.1 points, it gets 52 percent for vulnerable road users.
In the frontal impact test, the driver’s side airbag didn’t set out adequately and impacted a rigid barrier. The results of offset frontal impact test shows that the width of the 2018 Suzuki Jimny is striking a deformable barrier. Read: New Maruti WagonR – 5 Interesting Facts

For child protection, the SUV gets ISOFIX anchorages at the rear. In the European market, the new 2018 Suzuki Jimny is offered with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder K15B petrol engine that’s good enough for 102hp at 6,000rpm and 130Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Compared to its predecessor, the new 2018 Suzuki Jimny is lighter and more fuel efficient. The SUV is claimed to “overcome muddy pits” and “manoeuvre through dense woods and massive rocks”. Inspired by the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, the Jimny features a front grille with vertical openings, LED headlamps with washers, drip rail and rear combination lamps and clamshell bonnet.
