Mahindra’s subsidiary, Classic Legends have brought in the Jawa brand with three new models – Jawa, Jawa 42 and Jawa Perak. Priced at Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom), the Forty Two is the most affordable Jawa bike in the country. The Jawa 300 Classic and the factory-custom Jawa Perak bobber have been priced at Rs 1.64 lahk and Rs 1.89 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

Bookings for the Jawa and Jawa 42 have been commenced, while their deliveries will begin in early 2019. The Jawa Perak will be made available at a later date. While design of the new Jawa bike reminds of the 1970s-80s original Jawa motorcycle, at the heart it features a modern and more powerful engine. Power for the bike comes from a 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that’s good for 27bhp and 28Nm of torque. For braking purpose, it gets single-channel ABS along with 280mm disc brake at the front and 153mm drum brake at the rear.
