Performance-oriented Chetak Scooter Under Development
Bajaj’s iconic Chetak brand will soon be revived with the all-new Bajaj Chetak electric scooter that will first go on sale in Pune. Bookings of the vehicle will be commenced in January 2020, followed by its launch.
Interestingly, the home-grown two-wheeler maker is also working on a high performance version of the Chetak that could be retailed either under the KTM or Husqvarna brand. The platform of the new Chetak high performance scooter will remain unchanged. It’s likely to carry bolder stance and sharper design language than the standard Bajaj Chetak electric.

Talking about the new Bajaj Chetak, the electric scooter derives its power from an IP67 rated high-tech Lithium-Ion battery with NCA cells. It’s claimed to deliver an in-city range of up to 100km. The scooter’s battery could be charged via a standard 5-15 amp power socket.

Bajaj has equipped the new Chetak with regenerative braking, which converts braking heat into kinetic energy to deliver maximum range. It also comes with embedded mobility solutions including security, communication and user authentication.
