Nissan Compact SUV (Venue Rival) Launch Confirmed For Early 2020

Nissan India has confirmed an all-new subcompact SUV for the Indian market. The carmaker has also revealed that the new Nissan compact SUV will be designed on an all-new platform and its launch will happen in the first half of 2020. The teaser picture reveals that the silhouette, floating roof and silver roof rails of the vehicle.

The new Nissan compact SUV might share its platform with the Renault Triber MPV (i.e. the modified CMF-A architecture). The CMF-A (Common Module Family) has been co-developed by Nissan and Renault. Its dimensions are likely to be compact with bold SUV-ish stance. Some of its design bits could be sourced from the Kicks SUV such as the triangular quarter glass, wide C-pillar and a rear spoiler.

The side profile could be adored by pronounced wheel arches and body cladding. As of now, the interior of the new Nissan compact SUV is a mystery to us. We expect it to share some of its components and features with the Kicks SUV.

It would be too soon to comment on its engine. Though, it might come with an all-new engine or get Renault’s upcoming turbocharged version of the 1.0L Energy petrol engine. The latter one will debut on the Triber in coming months. Nissan’s new subcompact SUV is likely to be offered with manual and AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox options.

In the company’s product lineup, the new Nissan compact SUV is likely to sit below the Kicks and Terrano. It will be put up straight against the cars like Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and the upcoming Kia Sonet. In terms of pricing, the new Nissan compact SUV is estimated to cost between Rs 6.5 lakh – Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom).
