Renault India will soon give the BS6 upgrade to the Kwid hatchback and Triber subcompact MPV. Ahead of their official launch, the updated models have started reaching at dealerships across the nation. In fact, the prices of the BS6 Renault Triber and BS6 Renault Kwid have been leaked on the web.
The leaked price list hints that the carmaker might not upgrade the 0.8L petrol engine for the new emission norms. It’s only 1.0L, 3-cylinder petrol engine that will be upgraded for both model lineups. The power and torque outputs of the BS6 compliant motor are likely to remain unchanged.

In its BS4 form, the 1.0L gasoline motor delivers a peak power of 71bhp at 6,250rpm and 96Nm at 3,500rpm. The BS6 Renault Triber and BS6 Renault Kwid will continue to come with the standard 5-speed manual gearbox. Mileage figures of the BS6 Renault Kwid might be less than its BS4 version. Currently, the hatchback returns a claimed fuel economy of 21.7kmpl (manual) and 22.5kmpl (AMT). The Renault Triber manual promises fuel efficiency of 20.0kmpl.
The French carmaker will soon add two new variants to the BS6 Renault Triber lineup. The MPV will receive a new turbocharged petrol engine, which is expected to deliver power over 90bhp. In addition, the vehicle will get an AMT variant.
The Renault Triber comes in four variants – RXE, RXL, RXT and RXZ. Features such as LED DRLs, 14-inch alloy wheels, rear defogger and wiper, keyless entry, push button start/stop, 12V charging socket for third row, 2 front tweeters, four airbags and rear camera are reserved for the top-end trim.
