American automaker Ford will launch the new generation Ford Ka (also known as the next gen Figo) in Brazil in July, 2014. The vehicle was first unveiled in November last year, and has already been spotted testing several times on Brazilian streets. This hatchback model will soon be joined by the Ka sedan which is expected to be launched by the year end.
Ford India will also launch the new generation Figo hatchback in the country by the mid-2015, before that the company will introduce the Figo compact sedan. At the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, Ford unveiled the Figo sedan concept which looks quite closer to the production model. If media reports to believe, the production for the Figo sedan will commence by year end, and the launch will take place by early next year.
For Brazilian market, the Ford Ka hatchback will get the naturally aspirated 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit that churns out a maximum power output of 85bhp and 10.7kgm of torque. In India, the Figo sedan and hatchback is expected to get the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre diesel engine. However, media reports suggest that the company might also introduce the 1.0-litre EcoBoost variant of this model.
