Mahindra S101 compact SUV

Mahindra S101 compact SUV

Undoubtedly, the S101 is Mahindra’s most awaited compact SUV in the country. This sub-4 metre SUV has been spotted several times in different body frame; however, the recent spied wears the production body parts. Interestingly, the gearlever is mounted on the centre console instead of the floor which in return offers a spacious first row and provides more space to add bench type front passenger seats. If media reports to believe, the company might also introduce the six seater version of the S101 in 3+3 layout; however, we believe that 2+3 configuration suits the compact size well. Mahindra S101 compact SUV will be powered by a 1.2-litre 3-pot petrol engine and the 1.5-litre diesel engine.

Expected Launch: Mid-2015

Expected Price: 5-9 lakh

The new generation Bolero test mule has been spotted a couple of times on Indian roads. Codenamed U301, the new generation Bolero will be based on the hydro-formed ladder frame chassis. It is expected to come in several body lengths, including a sub-4 metre version. The smaller variant is likely to share its engine configuration with the Quanto- a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder diesel motor.

All-new Mahindra Scorpio

Mahindra is also working on an all-new generation Scorpio SUV. The details about the vehicle are scratchy; however, the new SUV will be inspired from the XUV500. If media reports to believe, the wheelbase and ground clearance of the SUV will remain unchanged, though the size of hood will be reduced to create roomier cabin.
