New-Gen Maruti Brezza
Maruti Suzuki’s top-selling SUV – Brezza – is ready to enter into its second generation next month. Though, its official launch date is yet to be announced. Compared to the current generation, the new one will have better styling, more advanced features and a new 6-speed automatic gearbox. Hyundai Venue Facelift
The South Korean automaker will give the first mid-life update to the Venue subcompact SUV in May. Most of the changes will be made at its front fascia. The new 2022 Hyundai Venue will feature a parametric grille inspired by the Tucson along with the newly-designed rectangular shaped headlamps and LED DRLs. Long-Range Tata Nexon EV
The 2022 Tata Nexon EV will come with the bigger 40kWh battery pack that promise range of over 400km and power around 136PS. The company will offer a more powerful 6.6kW AC charger with the new model. Rumour has that the updated Nexon EV will have selectable regeneration modes that will enable adjust intensity of regenerative braking. Honda City e:HEV
The Japanese automaker has confirmed that it will announce prices of the new City e:HEV hybrid sedan in the month of May. It will be the first strong hybrid electric car in the mainstream segment in the country. The model uses an Atkinson cycle 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors. The gasoline unit pushes out a peak power of 98bhp and with electric assistance it gives 109bhp. Its mileage stands at 26.5kmpl. More details here…
Volkswagen Virtus
Volkswagen Virtus, the upcoming mid-size sedan from the German automaker, is ready to hit showrooms on 9th June 2022. The model will be offered with the 1.0L TSI and 1.5L TSI petrol engine options. There will be three gearboxes on offer – a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque convertor automatic and a 7-speed DSG automatic. Maruti Baleno CNG/ Glanza CNG
Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG is reported to launch in the month of May. The premium hatchback will come with a 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine paired with a factory-fitted CNG kit. While power and torque outputs of the CNG variant could be slightly lower than the regular petrol motor, it will deliver a higher mileage of 25kmpl. Toyota’s Glanza, which is essentially the re-badged version of the Baleno, will also be offered with the CNG fuel option. More details here…
Jeep Meridian
Jeep India has confirmed that it will begin accepting pre-bookings for its upcoming Meridian three-row SUV from 3rd May 2022. Its deliveries, however, will start in the third week of June. The model is based on the Brazil-spec Commander SUV and shares its platform and a few design bits and features with the Compass. Though, it will be longer, wider, taller and more spacious than the Compass. It will use the same 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that’s good for 170bhp. More details here…
Citroen C3
Citroen C3 will be the second offering from the French automaker in India. It will be the brand’s first model to be designed and developed under the company’s C-cubed programme. Here, the premium hatchback will be offered with the 1.2L turbo petrol engine and 5-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox options.
