Citroen C3, the upcoming premium hatchback from the French automaker, is ready to hit Indian roads in coming months. Its official launch date is yet to be announced. We have seen the model with and without camouflage multiple times, though its interior image has emerged for the very first time on the web.
Interior Details
The new Citroen car features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated on the dashboard. The unit is likely to support both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The dashboard has textured surface (dot like pattern) and aircons have unique design. The image shows a mobile holder placed near the central air-con vents. The steering wheel has mounted controls. The spotted model misses out on the power wing mirrors, rear power windows and climate control hinting it’s a mid-spec variant.
First C-Cubed Model
Interestingly, the upcoming Citroen C3 will be the company’s first production model to come under Citroen’s C-cubed programme. The C Cubed stands for ‘Cool, Comfort, Clever. The models under this project are said to carry “unique and bold design” and to be developed for developing markets like South America and India. The new Citroen car will be manufactured in India with over 90 percent locally sourced components.
Turbo Petrol Engine
The premium hatchback has been designed on the CMF modular platform, which is used for new-generation FCA small cars. Under the hood, the C3 is likely house a 1.2L turbo petrol engine with the 5-speed manual and 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox options. Power and torque figures of the gasoline motor are yet to be revealed.
Design, Dimensions
The new Citroen car will measure 3996mm in length, 1829mm in width and 1474mm in height with a wheelbase of 2540mm. Design bits such as pronounced bonnet and high ground clearance give it a SUV-ish looks. Some of its key highlights include the signature double-slate grille that’s connecting the split LED headlamps, faux roof rails, alloy wheels, black cladding all around the body and wraparound LED taillamps.
