MG Hector 7-Seater to B-SUV – 4 New MG SUVs In India Within 18 Months

MG Motors will launch 4 all-new SUVs in India in the next 2 years.

MG Motors will officially launch the much-awaited MG Hector 5-seater SUV in India in June 2019. If media reports are to be believed, the company will launch the second product in the form of EZS Electric SUV in India in the second half of 2019. What’s more interesting is that the company is also working on an all-new B-Segment SUV.

The new B-Segment SUV will challenge the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Renault Duster. A new media report claims that the British automaker, owned by Chinese SAIC, will follow the Tata Motors strategy with the Hector SUV. Similar to the Harrier and Harrier’s 7-seater model, MG will first launch the Hector SUV which will be followed by a 7-seater SUV.

The 7-Seater SUV is expected to carry a new nameplate and will come with more conventional SUV design. MG Hector SUV is based on the Baojun 530 SUV, which is already on sale in the Chinese market. In fact, the Baojun 530 is available in 2 seating layouts – 5- and 7-seater. Also See – Baojun 510 – Hyundai Creta Rival Spotted In India

The MG Hector SUV will be powered by a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and a new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. Both engines are likely to offer around 170bhp of power. This SUV is claimed to be equipped with several segment-leading features like segment-largest touchscreen display, largest panoramic sunroof and 360 degree camera. MG aims to open 100 dealerships across 65 cities at the time of Hector’s launch.
